What is Resin Bond?

Resin bond is a highly decorative system that combines a two part Polymer resin with a kiln-dried natural aggregate. It is mixed together in a forced-action mixer and then hand-trowelled onto a suitable surface (Tarmacadam or concrete).

It is laid to a depth of 12-25mm depending on the use of the area and the size of the aggregate used, to leave a smooth, seamless, non-slip finish.

The non slip coating is applied to the surface of the screed and can be adapted to suit various requirements. A large selection of aggregates are available giving a beautiful, natural stone finish with very few maintenance issues.

Why choose resin bound?

When water or rainwater falls on a traditional hard paving surface it needs to drain away somewhere. Conventional solid paving surfaces are impermeable and the water can only flow across the surface towards drainage or forms pools of water, adding to potential flood risk in times on heavy rain.

Resin bond driveways, paotio or paths are gravel surfaces and avoid this potential problem, water flows through the small stones and into the ground.

The main driveway was completed in Golden Rose colour UV resin bound aggregate whilst the pathways were finished in Tobermore Pedestra Heather Block Paving with Charcoal kerbstones with the outer areas finished in Staffordshire Pink decorative gravel.
